In short: Laid Back Removals reuses its moving blankets and mattress bags, recycles boxes, plans routes to cut mileage, and takes unwanted furniture to charity instead of the bin. Every mover is paid fairly, every week. Our first electric van joins the team in 2027.
What we do on every move
Reusable kit
Our moving blankets see more journeys than an Oyster card. They and our mattress bags are cleaned and used again on the next move, instead of being thrown away.
Boxes recycled
When we unpack for you, we take the empty boxes away and recycle them.
Furniture to charity
Not taking the old sofa? We’ll drop it at your favourite charity shop, or pick one near you, so it gets a second home.
Fewer miles
We plan every route before the day, to cut time on the road and avoid empty trips across London.
People matter too
Good values aren’t only about the planet. Every mover on our team is paid fairly, every week, and trained to the same standard in our handbook, The Laid Back Way.
Where we're heading
We'll share the progress here.
How to make your own move greener
- Declutter first. Every item you sell or donate is one less thing to pack, carry and drive across London.
- Use what you have. Suitcases, laundry baskets and bags make free boxes. Towels and bedding beat bubble wrap.
- Get second-hand boxes. Ask friends who’ve just moved, or local selling groups.
- Share the van. Moving out of a shared flat? Book one van between you.
- Give your boxes on when you’re done, or ask us to recycle them.
Questions
Are you an eco-friendly removals company?
We work hard at it: reusable blankets and mattress bags, recycled boxes, planned routes and charity drop-offs on every move. Our first electric van joins the team in 2027.
Can you take my old furniture to a charity shop?
Yes. Tell us which charity you’d like when you ask for your quote, or we’ll pick one near you.
